GridTrx

GridTrx is a web-based platform designed to automate utility sub-metering and billing for multi-tenant buildings. Property managers needed a way to calculate and deliver monthly bills for energy and water usage across multiple tenants, without relying on spreadsheets or manual workflows. I led the end-to-end development of the platform—from designing the database schema to building a full-featured web dashboard for billing, tenant management, and usage tracking.

GridTrx included a custom rules engine to support various billing formulas (flat rates, ratios, tiered pricing), as well as PDF bill generation, historical reporting, and admin tools for managing properties and meters. It significantly reduced billing errors, eliminated hours of manual work, and brought modern SaaS capability to a historically underserved process. The system was paired with a mobile field app (MtrTrx) to sync meter readings directly into the platform.
